ICT Engineer


Location: Cheltenham | On-site

Salary: £30,000£35,000 per annum

Our client, a leading organisation within the education sector, is hiring an ICT Engineer to support and develop a busy, modern IT environment. This role plays a key part in ensuring reliable, secure, and forward-thinking technology services that underpin both learning and business operations.


This is an opportunity to work in a varied, hands-on role where technology is central to day-to-day delivery, with scope to contribute to infrastructure improvements and longer-term ICT strategy.


What youll do

  • Maintain and support the organisations core ICT systems and infrastructure
  • Take ownership of server and network-related issues, including proactive maintenance
  • Act as an escalation point for complex technical incidents
  • Carry out root-cause analysis and implement long-term fixes
  • Support and mentor junior members of the ICT team
  • Work on ICT projects and system improvements throughout the year
  • Liaise with third-party suppliers where required


Youll work closely with teaching staff, operational teams, and senior stakeholders to ensure technology supports both educational delivery and wider organisational needs.


What were looking for

  • Experience in a busy IT support or ICT engineering environment
  • Strong technical skills across Windows-based systems and networks
  • Exposure to Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and virtualised environments
  • Experience supporting a mix of devices (Windows, Apple, mobile devices)
  • A proactive, customer-focused approach to IT support
