Are you someone who takes pride in high standards and understands how critical hygiene is within food production? HRGO are looking to recruit a Hygiene Operative to join a busy manufacturing environment where cleanliness, food safety, and compliance are essential to protecting consumers and maintaining product quality. A strong understanding of Food Safety, HACCP L2, and COSHH is highly valued in this role, as you'll be working in a regulated setting where following correct procedures and handling materials safely is key. This is a hands-on position where your attention to detail will have a direct impact on the success of the site.
Key Responsibilities:
Clean and sanitise factory environment areas to a consistently high standard Support the cleaning and sanitising of machinery and equipment Use cleaning chemicals safely and in line with procedures Accurately complete cleaning schedules and hygiene records in line with BRC standards Dispose of waste and recycling according to site procedures Promote Good Hygiene Practices (GHP) across all areas of the site Support a strong food safety culture, reporting any risks in line with HACCP principles Operate and maintain hygiene equipment and machinery Assist with internal and external audits before, during, and after inspections Replenish PPE, chemicals, and hygiene consumables as required Carry out both standard duties and additional tasks set by the management team Assist with deep cleaning activities Report maintenance, food safety, or health & safety concerns promptlyAbout You:
Food Safety Level 2 HACCP Level 2 Chemical training Strong English & Maths Good written and verbal communication skills Time management Good attention to detail Pest Awareness Training Able to work both independently and as part of a team Physically capable of tasks including bending, standing, and lifting Reliable, proactive, and detail-oriented Previous experience in a similar environment is beneficial but not essential
