Location: WF1 1AA, Wakefield, West Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, Yorkshire, UKThe Role: Mechanical / HVAC Project Manager You will take full responsibility for the planning, coordination, and commercial success of mechanical projects across retail and commercial sites. The role combines on-site leadership with client communication, cost control, and programme management. Key ResponsibilitiesLead mechanical projects (HVAC, plumbing, ductwork, pumps) from design stage through to completionAttend site surveys, define project scope and deliverables, and plan resource allocationCoordinate subcontractors and internal teams to ensure safe, efficient deliveryManage multiple fast-track retail and commercial projects simultaneouslyReview drawings, specifications, and technical submittalsProvide mechanical engineering input during design and pre-construction phasesEnsure compliance with industry standards and statutory requirementsCost & Commercial ManagementDevelop project budgets and manage financial performance throughout deliveryProduce CVRs, track variations, and ensure accurate forecastingSupport value engineering initiatives without compromising qualityStakeholder & Client EngagementAct as main point of contact for clients, project teams, and operational stakeholdersAttend progress meetings and provide clear updates on programme and costEnsure a positive client experience and build long-term relationships Required Experience:5+ years in Mechanical / HVAC project managementStrong exposure to retail or commercial projectsBackground in building services or M&E contractingStrong understanding of HVAC systems, plumbing, ductwork, and mechanical plantProven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyCommercially strong with experience producing CVRs, managing budgets, and controlling variationsExcellent stakeholder, client-facing, and communication skillsQualifications & Certs:Mechanical Engineering / Building Services backgroundSMSTS (strongly preferred)CSCS cardFirst Aid / Asbestos Awareness advantageousCalibre Search promote equality in the workplace and we welcome applications from all suitably skilled or qualified candidates regardless of their sex, race, disability, religion/beliefs, sexual orientation or age.
