With a population of approximately 21,000 across four wards, the council comprises 16 elected members and a dedicated team of over 30 staff members. Role Description
This is a part‑time, on‑site HR Business Partner role based in Stowmarket. Responsibilities include partnering with leadership to develop and implement HR strategies, supporting organizational performance, managing employee relations, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations. The HR Business Partner will also be responsible for talent management, providing HR guidance to staff, managing recruitment and onboarding processes, and implementing training and development programs.
Qualifications
Proficiency in employee relations, conflict resolution, and managing workplace dynamics
Understanding of talent management, recruitment strategies, and onboarding processes
Knowledge of employment legislation and compliance standards
Strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to create and implement HR policies and training programs
Experience in strategic HR planning and advising leadership on human resources matters
Proficiency in HR software and tools
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (CIPD qualification is a plus)
