Working closely with production, engineering, and quality teams, the role ensures that all operationsparticularly those involving aerospace engine componentsare conducted safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with regulatory and industry standards.This is a hands-on role requiring a proactive approach to risk management, operational safety, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced, high-precision manufacturing environment.Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure full compliance with all relevant UK HS&E legislation and applicable industry requirementsDevelop, implement, and continuously improve site-wide HSE policies, procedures, and systemsConduct and review risk assessments, including PUWER and COSHH, tailored to CNC machining, tooling, and associated processesLead internal audits and support external/customer auditsWork closely with Production and Engineering teams to embed safe working practices into CNC operations and process improvementsDrive a proactive safety culture, promoting accountability and engagement at all levelsLead accident/incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective actionsAnalyse and report HSE performance data to identify trends and support continuous improvementManage the Management of Change (MOC) process for new machinery, tooling, and production methodsEnsure robust Safe Systems of Work (SSOW), Permit-to-Work systems, and contractor controls are in placeCoordinate emergency preparedness, including evacuation procedures and drillsEnsure appropriate first aid provision and compliance with reporting requirementsChair HSE committee meetings and ensure actions are tracked and deliveredGeneral ResponsibilitiesMaintain up-to-date knowledge of HS&E legislation and relevant industry requirementsEnsure compliance with company policies, procedures, and customer expectationsPromote clear communication of HSE expectations across all departmentsSupport continuous improvement initiatives aligned with operational excellenceKnowledge & Skills RequiredStrong working knowledge of Health, Safety & Environmental regulationsNEBOSH qualifiedExperience within a manufacturing environment (aerospace, precision engineering, or CNC machining preferred)Understanding of hazards associated with high-precision machining, tooling, coolants, and automated equipmentExperience conducting risk assessments, audits, and incident investigationsAbility to influence and engage stakeholders across all levels of the businessPersonal AttributesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsProactive, driven, and solutions-focusedApproachable and able to build strong working relationshipsHighly organised and detail-orientedProfessional, reliable, and resilient in a fast-paced environmentJBRP1_UKTJ
