Job Description
HSE Manager with FMCG / Manufacturing experience required near Nottingham. Reporting to the Compliance Manager, this is an exciting opportunity to manage all aspects of Health, Safety and Environmental compliance, ensuring all legal requirements are met along with company policies and procedures, on a site employing 80+ staff and which is on an exceptional growth curve.\n\n£50K - £55K + Bonus, Pension, Benefits and great prospects\n\nThe role is based at one of the sites of a growing world-leading manufacturer of B2B and B2C products with c700 employees across sites in the UK, Europe and the US. With leading brands, innovative products, and a global footprint, they are committed to delivering sustainable solutions that protect public health and work in harmony with nature.\n\nTo assist with your success, the HSE Manager will have:\n\n * Practical hands-on experience in a similar role in an FMCG / manufacturing business\n\n * NEBOSH or NVQ Lvl 6 Diploma (desirable) or proven equivalent experience\n\n * IEMA foundation certificate\n\n * Experience on ISO standards auditing requirements\n\n * Knowledge of DSEAR Regulations (desirable)\n\n * Proficient at working with IT systems including MS office\n\n * A strong but personable disposition\n\nKey Areas of Responsibility\n\n * Manage the HSE programme to ensure compliance with legal, local, and company policy requirements.\n\n * Develop, implement, and maintain site Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).\n\n * Maintain the SOP matrix and oversee the review process.\n\n * Develop and manage the HSE training matrix.\n\n * Design and deliver internal HSE training as required.\n\n * Coordinate and manage external training (e.g.
First Aid, Fire Marshal, Fire Extinguisher).\n\n * Oversee the fire extinguisher inspection and maintenance schedule.\n\n * Ensure appropriate PPE is available and used correctly across the site.\n\n * Maintain and audit spill kits to ensure readiness and compliance.\n\n * Manage the pest control programme to ensure it meets site requirements and remains effective.\n\n * Develop and implement the site HSE audit schedule.\n\n * Lead HSE audits and ensure corrective actions are completed to drive continuous improvement.\n\n * Manage the disposal of scrap products and raw materials in line with legal and regulatory requirements.\n\n * Conduct risk assessments and ensure they are regularly reviewed.\n\n * Conduct COSHH assessments and maintain review schedules.\n\n * Develop and maintain environmental policies, ensuring full compliance.\n\n * Manage accident reporting processes and lead monthly incident reviews.\n\n * Chair monthly EHS committee meetings and prepare and publish minutes.\n\nWhat’s on Offer?\n\nFull-time and permanent employment in a progressive company committed to growth.
