Health & Safety Consultant\n\nLocation: Flexible / Hybrid (ideally within reach of Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham or Milton Keynes)\nSalary: Up to £60,000 + benefits\nSector: Construction\n\nAn established and growing consultancy is looking to appoint a Health & Safety Consultant to support the delivery of health, safety and compliance services across a diverse portfolio of construction projects across retail, healthcare, commercial and education.\n\nThe role offers a flexible hybrid working approach, allowing consultants to manage their own diary between site visits, home working and occasional office attendance.\n\nThe Role\n\nAs a Health & Safety Consultant, you will support the delivery of CDM and health & safety services across multiple projects, working closely with clients, contractors and design teams to ensure projects are compliant and operating to high safety standards.\n\nKey responsibilities include:\n\n * \n\n Undertaking site inspections and health & safety audits\n\n * \n\n Producing clear reports and practical recommendations\n\n * \n\n Reviewing Construction Phase Plans, RAMS, PCI documentation and H&S Files\n\n * \n\n Reviewing design risk assessments and supporting the principles of prevention\n\n * \n\n Monitoring contractor compliance with CDM 2015 and UK H&S legislation\n\n * \n\n Attending project meetings and providing practical H&S advice\n\n * \n\n Supporting the preparation of H&S documentation and compliance reports\n\n * \n\n Assisting with design risk management across projects\n\n * \n\n Reviewing fire safety documentation and Regulation 38 information\n\n * \n\n Contributing to client H&S policies, procedures and compliance frameworks\n\nAbout You\n\n * \n\n 4–6 years’ experience in construction health & safety or CDM advisory\n\n * \n\n Experience undertaking site inspections, audits and reporting\n\n * \n\n Strong understanding of CDM 2015 and UK H&S legislation\n\n * \n\n Experience reviewing RAMS, Construction Phase Plans or H&S documentation\n\n * \n\n Comfortable attending meetings with contractors, designers and clients\n\n * \n\n NEBOSH Construction or General Certificate\n\n * \n\n TechIOSH membership (or working towards)\n\n * \n\n CSCS card\n\n * \n\n Full UK driving licence\n\nDesirable\n\n * \n\n APS membership (Associate level)\n\n * \n\n Fire Risk Assessment training (e.g. Level 3 FRA)\n\n * \n\n Experience supporting Principal Designer / CDM duties\n\n * \n\n Additional training such as SMSTS, SSSTS or Temporary Works\n\nWhat’s on Offer\n\n * \n\n Salary up to £60,000 depending on experience\n\n * \n\n 27 days annual leave plus public holidays\n\n * \n\n Death in Service – 4x salary\n\n * \n\n Pension – 6% employer contribution (after 3 months)\n\n * \n\n Vitality Private Healthcare after probation\n\n * \n\n Hybrid working between home, office and site\n\n * \n\n Investment in training, CPD and career development\n\nTo apply, please submit your CV or contact us directly for a confidential discussion
