Purpose of the Role As HS&E Advisor, you will support the Framework HS&E Manager in delivering health, safety and environmental excellence across projects.
You will play a key role in implementing HS&E strategy, ensuring compliance with management systems and legislation, and driving continuous improvement across project delivery. Working closely with operational teams, you will provide practical guidance and support from planning through to completion.
Key Accountabilities
* Support the delivery of HS&E strategy across the framework, driving continuous improvement in performance.
* Promote behavioural safety programme Challenging Beliefs, Affecting Behaviours.
* Provide technical HS&E advice and guidance to operational and site teams.
* Ensure effective implementation of the HS&E Management System in line with business and client requirements.
* Engage with key stakeholders including clients, supply chain partners and regulatory bodies.
* Monitor HS&E performance through KPIs, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
* Support proactive risk management across all stages of the project lifecycle.
* Escalate HS&E concerns and support timely resolution.
* Collaborate across teams to ensure consistent HS&E standards are achieved.
Key Responsibilities in the Role
* Review project documentation including Construction Phase Plans, Emergency Response Plans, risk assessments and method statements.
* Carry out regular site inspections, HS&E reviews and environmental audits, including ISO 14001 compliance.
* Support supply chain onboarding and ongoing HS&E performance monitoring.
* Deliver HS&E training, briefings and best practice guidance to operational teams.
* Investigate incidents and non-conformities, identifying root causes and driving corrective actions.
* Support incident management and close-out through systems (M2i).
* Produce and present monthly HS&E performance reports to project and leadership teams.
About You
* Relevant HS&E experience within construction, infrastructure, utilities or similar sectors.
* NEBOSH Construction or General Certificate (or working towards).
* Strong understanding of HS&E legislation, management systems and risk management.
* Experience supporting HS&E delivery across the full project lifecycle.
* Confident communicator with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
* Experience conducting site inspections, audits and incident investigations.
* Competent in Microsoft Office and reporting systems.
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
Desirable:
* Membership of IOSH or IIRSM (TechIOSH minimum).
* Working towards or holding CMIOSH.
* NVQ Level 3 (or above) in a relevant discipline.
* Experience within water or other regulated infrastructure sectors.
