HR Systems Expert - Workday and Oracle

A niche Financial Services business based in the City of London are now looking for a HR Systems Expert (Workday and Oracle).
This is a key technical role acting as the subject matter expert for all HR systems. You will serve as the critical bridge between HR, IT, and global teams, leveraging technology to streamline processes, maintain data integrity, and deliver actionable insights that support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
HR Systems Ownership
Act as the primary subject matter expert for core HR systems, with a strong focus on Workday and Oracle.
Serve as the first point of contact for all HR system-related queries from HRBPs, recruitment, and other stakeholders.
Provide expert guidance and support on Workday processes to HR teams.
Represent the UK business in global Workday review meetings and act as a conduit between UK and Hong Kong HR teams.
Collaborate with Finance to resolve issues in Oracle, particularly around timesheets and project modules.
Review and optimise existing Workday business processes to drive greater efficiency.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive Workday handbook documenting all processes.
Data & Reporting
Manage and maintain job profiles, job catalogue, and supervisory organisation structures in Workday.
Ensure high accuracy of all HR data through regular reconciliation exercises.
Design and build automated reports and dashboards to support data-driven HR decisions.
Work closely with the Reward, Data Analytics & MI team to enhance headcount reporting and overall data utilisation.
Integrations & Technical Support
Own and manage all Workday interfaces and integrations (including SailPoint, Pegasus, ECOS, ADP, and Oracle).
Ensure seamless and timely data flows between systems.
Log, track, and resolve system issues via Jira; work with external consultants (e.g., Deloitte) on testing and implementing solutions.
Projects & Change
Support HRIS improvement projects, including development, testing, and deployment.
Coordinate with HRBPs and IT on department restructures and system updates.
Assist with the successful rollout of new entities (e.g., Dubai) and the new Workday Learning Management System (LMS).
Partner with global teams (particularly Hong Kong) to ensure system alignment and that local needs are met.
About You
Strong subject matter expertise in Workday (configuration, business processes, reporting) and good working knowledge of Oracle.
Proven experience managing HR system integrations and troubleshooting complex data flows.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate business needs into efficient system solutions.
Experience working in a global/matrix environment with stakeholders across multiple time zones.
Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Experience using Jira or similar ticketing systems is beneficial.
Previous exposure to financial services, commodities, or regulated industries is advantageous.
