HR Generalist (Temp - Potential Temp to Perm)

Salary: £40,000
Full-time | Office-based | Gosport

We're looking for an experienced HR Generalist to join a busy HR team on an initial temporary basis, with the potential to become permanent.

This is a hands-on, generalist role with a strong focus on employee relations, talent management, and day-to-day HR operations. You'll work closely with the HR lead, providing practical support across core HR processes while helping keep everything running smoothly.

Working hours

36.25 hours per week
Flexible start between 7.00am - 10.00am and finish between 3.00pm - 6.00pm
Ideally happy to work earlier hours initially (around 7-8am start) to support training and handover
45 minutes unpaid lunch per dayKey responsibilities

Strong day-to-day focus on employee relations, including disciplinary and investigation support, accurate note-taking, sickness absence management and liaison with Occupational Health.
Supporting end-to-end recruitment activity, including interview coordination, new starter paperwork and onboarding
Preparing HR documentation, letters and records in line with policy and employment legislation
Supporting managers with day-to-day HR queries and process guidanceWhat we are looking for

Previous experience in a generalist HR or HR Advisor role
Strong recruitment and onboarding experience
Confidence supporting employee relations processes, including disciplinaries and investigations
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and juggling multiple priorities
Approachable, professional and able to build effective working relationships at all levels
Confident IT user with experience of HR systems and MS OfficeWhat's on offer
