Position: Night Auditor Location: The Adria Hotel Reports to: Night Manager Job Description: Night Auditor Summary The Adria Hotel is seeking a detail-oriented, reliable, and service-driven Night Auditor to support the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of the hotel during overnight hours. This is a lone working role , with responsibility for the hotel throughout the night, reporting directly to the Night Manager. The Night Auditor is responsible for completing all overnight financial audits accurately, delivering exceptional guest service, maintaining safety and security standards, supporting overnight food and beverage service, and ensuring the hotel is fully prepared for the following days operations. Key Responsibilities Night Audit & Financial Duties Complete the nightly audit process accurately, ensuring all financial transactions balance correctly. Reconcile daily revenues, including accommodation, food and beverage, and ancillary charges. Prepare and distribute night audit and operational reports for management. Identify and report any discrepancies immediately to the Night Manager. Ensure all postings and adjustments are completed prior to system rollover. Front Office & Guest Services Act as the primary point of contact for all guests overnight, delivering a professional, calm, and welcoming service. Handle late check-ins, early check-outs, billing queries, and guest requests. Respond efficiently to guest issues or complaints, escalating where appropriate. Maintain a visible presence in public areas to uphold service and security standards. Answer phone calls and emails professionally, including monitoring the general email inbox when required and respond to guests on various messaging services. Food & Beverage & In-Room Dining (Overnight) Demonstrate basic food and beverage knowledge , including drinks menus, allergens, and service standards. Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks overnight in line with licensing laws and hotel standards. Handle overnight bar service responsibly, ensuring accurate posting to guest accounts. Manage and deliver overnight in-room dining orders , including coordination with external partners where applicable. Set up trays and trolleys, deliver orders professionally, and ensure timely clearance where required. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in all F&B service areas used overnight. Address and resolve guest concerns related to overnight food and beverage service promptly. Safety, Security & Lone Working Responsibility Take responsibility for the safety and security of the hotel during the overnight shift. Monitor the fire panel and have a clear understanding of emergency and evacuation procedures. Conduct regular patrols of public areas and back-of-house spaces to ensure security and safety compliance. Respond calmly and effectively to emergencies, including fire alarms, medical incidents, or security matters. Ensure all entrances, exits, and restricted areas are secure at all times. Adhere strictly to lone-working procedures, including the requirement not to use guest lifts when working alone. Operational Support & Hotel Preparation Support the Night Manager with overnight operational tasks as required. Prepare the Front Desk for the morning shift, including registration cards, key preparation, and detailed handover notes. Ensure front-of-house areas are clean, presentable, and fully prepared for the day team. Support early-morning operational readiness where required. Administrative & Reporting Duties Maintain accurate records of overnight operations, including incidents, guest feedback, and maintenance issues. Complete detailed shift handover reports for the morning team and Night Manager. Log and report all health, safety, and maintenance concerns. Assist with monitoring front office and F&B supply levels overnight. Health & Safety Follow all health, safety, and food hygiene procedures at all times. Maintain awareness of relevant risk assessments and overnight responsibilities. Support emergency responses and ensure incidents are recorded accurately. Comply fully with fire safety procedures and lone-working guidelines. The Lifts are off limits when working alone, so the successful candidate needs to be able to climb stairs. Qualifications & Experience Previous experience in a Night Auditor, Reception, or similar overnight hotel role. Basic food and beverage service knowledge, including drink preparation and in-room dining service. Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail. Experience using hotel PMS systems and night audit procedures. Confident working independently and making sound decisions overnight. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Flexibility to work night shifts and occasional extended hours when required. Personal Attributes Calm, professional, and guest-focused at all times. Highly responsible, reliable, and trustworthy. Working Hours This role involves working overnight shifts from late evening to early morning. Flexibility may be required depending on operational needs and occasional day shifts. The Training for this role and familiarisation will be initially on the day shift for the first two weeks.
