A number of mainstream primary schools with dedicated Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) Resource Bases are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a skilled and supportive team.
The ASC base is staffed by a specialist SEND teacher and three highly trained teaching assistants. With a low pupil-to-adult ratio, they are committed to providing personalised support that helps each child reach their full potential.
Some of the schools are accessible via public transport, while others may require access to a car. You will be placed in a school that fits your strengths and preferences, and we will support you every step of the way.
About the Role -As an HLTA in an ASC resource base, you will: -Work closely under the guidance of the base lead teacher -Provide tailored support for pupils with Autism in 1:1 and small group settings -Assist in planning, preparing and delivering engaging learning activities -Model effective teaching and behaviour management strategies -Support the professional development of less experienced TAs through a coaching and mentoring approach
Essential Skills and Experience -HLTA qualification or relevant experience -Excellent spoken and written English -Experience working with children with Autism, SEN, SEMH, ...
