Job Overview We now have an exciting opportunity for a permanent Branch Manager to work out of our Halifax Branch. The advertised salary is a starting point only and the salary offered will reflect the experience you bring. Hours of Work: 7.30 am to 5.00 pm, Monday to Friday. Responsibilities
Overseeing branch premises and company vehicles, ensuring security measures are followed, keeping the site tidy, and ensuring all operations comply with health and safety legislation. Maintaining the company’s professional image by keeping premises, vehicles, staff, and equipment clean, well‑presented, and customer‑ready. Driving the branch’s financial performance by monitoring budgets, tracking KPIs, and applying a clear understanding of profit drivers and cost controls. Managing the hire fleet, ensuring all on‑ and off‑hire procedures are followed, equipment is maintained to hire‑ready standards, and all paperwork and user guides are provided. Controlling resale stock within the branch, including merchandising, monitoring stock levels and values, managing product profiles, and addressing slow‑moving, lost, or damaged items. Leading and motivating branch employees in line with company policies, recruiting effectively, and fostering a positive team environment to support high staff retention. Keeping the Health & Safety Portal (Safety Cloud) updated, resolving outstanding issues promptly, and ensuring all staff training is current and compliant. Acting as a role‑model for the company’s Core Values in every aspect of branch operations. Delivering a consistently positive customer experience by ensuring service quality, professionalism, and responsiveness at all times.
Qualifications / Requirements
Proven experience working with Plant and Tool Hire equipment. Exceptional knowledge of general building materials. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Proficiency in software systems, including Merlin, is preferred. Manual Driving Licence (required).
