The Highways Maintenance Operative plays an important part in the installation of temporary traffic management and all aspects of highway maintenance works, playing a vital part in operations. The role includes road safety improvement and active travel schemes, civils works, drainage works, road gritting, maintenance works and routine cyclic activities. Key Responsibilities: Undertake all aspects of highways maintenance works including routine and cyclic maintenance activities. Drive/operate vehicles including HGV/small and large plant ensuring vehicle checks, routine maintenance and cleaning duties undertaken. Winter maintenance to include emergency call out and standby. Attend project and work briefings. Adhere to health and safety requirements. Self motivated and pro-active in terms of delivering solutions.
