This is a vital role within the Highways Asset Management team in Leicester, supporting the city's infrastructure by maintaining the safety and condition of highways, footways, and cycle routes. The main duties of the Highway Inspector are:

· Undertake condition surveys and inspections of highway assets using risk-based assessments to identify and prioritise maintenance needs. · Specify maintenance requirements and issue works orders, including safety measures and traffic management plans. · Inspect defective reinstatements and ensure compliance with NRSWA regulations, including enforcement and penalty issuance. · Support the development and implementation of planned maintenance programmes. · Provide technical input and recommendations for long-term maintenance strategies. · Respond to public enquiries, including vehicle crossing requests, complaints, and infrastructure concerns. · Assess and approve highway-related licences and manage obstructions and markings. · Investigate insurance claims and public complaints, offering policy-based guidance and technical advice. · Prepare cost estimates and quotes for maintenance and im...
