Job Description

Desian Education are working in collaboration with an extremely supportive and vibrant mainstream primary school in St Helens as they are looking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for a full-time contract within an immediate start.

As a HLTA, you will play an integral role in the education and development of a full class of Year 1 pupils, delivering targeted interventions on a small group basis, and covering lessons in the teachers absence.

Key Responsibilities

• Small class group and whole-class delivering in Year 1
• Working in collaboration with the class teacher for planning and assessment
• Implementing positive behaviour strategies
• Planning and delivering of small group and 1:1 interventions in core subjects such as phonics (RWI), numeracy and literacy
• PPA cover

What you need to succeed

• A HLTA qualification or equivalent experience
• A passion for supporting young learners
• Strong KS1 curriculum knowledge
• Be able to commit for the remainder of the academic year
• Have an enhanced children's DBS on the update service or willing to obtain
