Higher Level SEN Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a Higher Level SEN Teaching Assistant to join our expanding team, to be a part of this exciting new experience right from the start!

Do you have a background in SEMH, SEBD or ASD? Have you had experience with challenging behaviour? Do you have Team Teach or MAPA training? Have you covered lesson? Experience tutoring or teaching small groups?

This specialist school based in Newham are looking for a Therapeutic Education practitioners with experience of working with challenging children and young people.  This is a specialist school that caters for young people who have been excluded or at risk of being excluded from a mainstream school

The Role

The purpose of the Higher Level Teaching Assistant is to support the Class Teacher with all elements of the day to day running of the class and to teach whole classes, groups and individual lessons in consultation with the Class Teacher on a regular basis across a range of classes.

Summary of Role:

Experience of working with hard-to-reach young people with SEMH/ACE’s/ASD/Sensory and communication difficulties. We are looking for candidates who are ‘Trauma informed’ with a mentoring/coaching/teaching background and an understanding of Therapeutic Education.
