We are working with a well-established fleet maintenance and technical services provider who are looking to recruit an experienced HGV Technician to join their growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician with strong fault-finding capability across mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and software-based systems, working on a modern commercial vehicle fleet.

The Role

As an HGV Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and compliance of commercial vehicles. The position involves advanced diagnostics, repairs, and technical support, including software programming and complex fault rectification.

Key responsibilities:

Diagnosing and repairing complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults

*

Identifying and rectifying manufacturer and body builder faults

*

Software diagnostics, programming, and fault rectification (onsite and with remote support when required)

*

Using dealer diagnostic software and tools for accurate fault finding

*

Carrying out vehicle modifications and retrofits where required

*

Ensuring all work complies with current legislation, DVSA standards, MOT standards, and road laws

*

Maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety at all times

The Candidate

To be considered for this role, you should have:

*

Proven experience as an HGV Technician

*

Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills

*

Experience working with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems

*

Proficiency in software diagnostics and programming on commercial vehicles

*

Familiarity with dealer diagnostic software

*

Good knowledge of DVSA regulations, MOT standards, and road legislation

*

A professional, methodical approach to work

Salary & Benefits

Up to £55,000 per annum

*

Optional overtime available

*

Saturdays and Sundays paid at overtime rates

*

No shift work currently (with plans to introduce enhanced shift pay in the future)
