HGV Technician Location: Leeds Pay Rate: £20.00 per hour Hours: Monday – Thursday: 8:00am – 4:30pm | Friday: 8:00am – 3:30pm Overtime: Paid at 1.5x
Join a Growing Fleet Maintenance Team We are working with a well-established and rapidly expanding fleet maintenance company based in Leeds. Due to continued success and growth, they are now seeking an experienced and skilled HGV Technician to join their high-performing team.
The Role – HGV Technician
As a key part of the workshop team, you’ll be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and modification of a modern fleet of HGV trailers and tankers. You’ll play a crucial role in ensuring operational efficiency and vehicle safety.
Your HGV Technician responsibilities will Include:
- Performing diagnostics, fault finding, and repairs on HGV trailers and tankers - Modifying and upgrading trailers/tankers as required - Completing pressure testing inspections on tanks - Fitting pumps, meters, repairing barrels, and carrying out accident damage repairs - Working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems - Ensuring all defects are accurately reported - Complying with warranty processes and documentation - Conducting road tests where required (HGV licence holders only)
What We’re Looking For in the successful HGV Technician
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent) - Strong mechanical knowledge of trailers, tankers, hydraulics and pneumatics - A proactive and reliable approach with attention to detail - Previous experience in a similar workshop or fleet maintenance role
