People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Mechanic to join our well-established client based in Nuneaton, Warwickshire on a full-time permanent basis.

This is a hands-on workshop-based role working on a well-maintained company fleet — no roadside breakdowns and no dealership pressure targets. Ideal for a mechanic looking for a steady, long-term position with realistic workloads.

Hours

• Monday to Friday
• 07:30 – 17:00

Salary

• £46,800 per annum

Day-to-Day Duties

As an HGV Mechanic, your duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Servicing, maintaining, and repairing HGV and LGV vehicles
• Preparing vehicles for MOT and annual testing
• Diagnosing mechanical faults and carrying out repairs
• Completing vehicle inspections and safety checks
• Recording defects and completing workshop documentation
• Ensuring vehicles meet Operator Licence requirements

Essential Skills

To be successful as an HGV Mechanic, you will need:

• Previous experience working on HGVs or heavy vehicles
• Strong fault-finding and mechanical repair skills
• Knowledge of inspections and vehicle safety standards
• Reliable, organised, and methodical approach to work
