HGV Mechanic / Fitter required - Heathrow - Airside

Contract Type:Full-time, permanent

Hours:Shift-based (including weekends and Bank Holidays) 3 on 3 off DAYS 6am - 6pm (Weekends 06.00am - 13.00pm.

About the Role

Were looking for a skilled and safety-focusedFueling Vehicle Fitter / Mechanicto maintain, inspect, and repair a fleet of specialist HGV fueling vehicles.

In this dual role, youll ensure all fueling vehicles are serviceable, compliant, and maintained to the highest standards and occasionally act as aFueling Operatorto stay current in aircraft refueling operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry outrepairs, maintenance, and defect rectificationon fueling vehicles / HGV's and equipment to approved standards.
  • Complete and record all work accurately in theBlue Crystal system.
  • Conductregulatory quality control checksin line with JIG QC manuals and safety requirements.
  • Maintain asafe, clean, and compliant workshop environment.
  • Operate fueling vehicles and equipment in accordance with allCompany and statutory regulations.
  • Support thecommissioning of new fueling equipmentand ensure vehicles remain service-ready.
  • Performvehicle pre-use checks, reporting any faults or safety concerns.
  • Report and document allincidents, accidents, or near-missesas per company procedures.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, management, and airport stakeholders to ensure seamless operation.

What Were Looking For

Essential Experience & Qualifications:

  • Significant hands-on experience as aFitter / Mechanic( with commercial or heavy vehicles).
  • Knowledge ofaircraft fuelling systems,vehicle mechanics, andsafety regulations.
  • Experience withvehicle or equipment quality control.
  • Eligibility to obtainairport security clearanceandairside driving license.
  • Willingness to workshift patterns, including weekends and Bank Holidays.

Desirable:

  • Recognisedmechanical qualification(e.g. NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
  • Knowledge ofAirfield SOPsand workshop procedures.
  • ADR license(advantageous).
