Position: HGV Tanker Driver/Drainage Engineer

Location: Stanley House, Rochester, ME24NF

Line Reporting Manager: Depot Manager

Hours: Monday - Friday 06:00am - 16:00pm 50hour week (with a lot of opportunities for overtime on the weekend and night work)

You are able to work 12 consecutive days and then you are legally required to have 48hours down time. We work on a 18/6 day. Meaning you can work 18hours a day with two mandatory hours unpaid break and then you have to have 6 hours downtime before returning back to work.

Salary: £12.60ph / £32,760 basic annually.Anything worked over 50hours is paid at time and a half £18.90hr.(The flat rate is standard due to the overtime achievable) (Annual salary reviews due to minimum/living wage. Length of service pay increases)Overtime to be covered after hours and weekends.

For example if you was to work 25 hours overtime per week on an average 4 week month you would take home an extra £1500 on top of your normal basic take home. (Plus the bonuses below if you are to do them)

£45 night work through bonus. Which means if you was to work through the night into the next day you would get the bonus on top off moneys for hours worked.
Call out bonus: You get put on a schedule for call outs. £30 for a weekday, £45 per a day on the weekend.

Principle Duties and Accountabilities:

• Being flexible in your approach to work and undertake ad-hoc duties when your vehicle is off the road or if you are required to assist other field teams

Roles and Responsibilities forHGV Driver:

• Drive and operate specialist jetting tankers; Super Suction Jetting Tankers, Combination Jetting Tankers once training has been provided (Class 2, CPC required)
• Attend emergency call out situations dealing with sewer blockages, flooding and pollution
• Working on Private and public land in strict accordance with statutory health, safety and environmental procedures
• Undertake vehicle checks at the start and finish of each shift
• Ensure that all jobs are documented correctly
• Report all defects, accidents and near misses immediately to Line Manager
• Maintain the drivers log book in compliance with MOT rules and procedures
• Ensure that the conditions of all PPE (personal protective clothing and equipment) remain fit for purpose
• Keep the vehicle and equipment washed down on a weekly basis, free from rubbish in hose and tool boxes and the cab
• Attend training as and when required

Health & Safety Responsibilities

• Work safely and follow company health & safety procedures
• Use risk assessments and safe systems of work
• Complete basic site paperwork and safety checks
• Report any incidents or near misses to your manager
• Represent the company professionally and responsibly on site

Requirements

• HGV Class 1 or 2 licence
• Ability to work safely, follow instructions, and deal politely with the public
• Comfortable working independently with remote instructions

Desirable (Not Essential)

• ADR licence
• Experience in drainage, liquid waste, or environmental services
• Street works or high-pressure water jetting experience
