HGV Class 2 Driver – Multi-Drop – Riddings, Alfreton

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 2 Driver to join our well-established client based in Riddings, Alfreton.

This role is ideal for an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver looking for consistent day-shift work.

This role will suit applicants who have worked as a LGV Class 2 Driver, Category C Driver or Lorry Driver.

Shifts:

• Monday to Friday (weekend work available)
• Various shifts available, early mornings, days, nights
• Nights paid at a 20% premium

Rates of Pay:

  •  £14.50 per hour (Monday to Friday days)
  •  £17.40 per hour (Monday to Friday nights)

Day-to-Day Duties:

As a HGV Class 2 Driver, your duties will include (but are not limited to):

  •  Class 2 multi-drop deliveries, general haulage, delivering palletised goods
  •  Operating Category C vehicles safely and efficiently
  •  Carrying out pre- and post-journey vehicle inspections
  •  Ensuring all goods are loaded and secured correctly
  •  Adhering to UK traffic laws and transport regulations
  •  Communicating effectively with the transport office and customers
  •  Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance requirements
  •  Assisting with loading and unloading when required, both curtain side and back loaders vehicles

Essential Skills

To be successful as a HGV Class 2 Driver, you will need:

  •  Valid UK Category C Driving Licence
  •  Minimum of twelve months' experience driving Category C vehicles
  •  No more than six penalty points for minor offences (no major endorsement codes)
  •  Valid UK Driver CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
  •  Good spoken and written English
  •  Excellent punctuality and timekeeping
  •  Strong understanding of UK road traffic laws
  •  Effective communication skills

Desirable Experience:

  •  Previous experience driving commercial vehicles, at least a year.

Training:

  •  Driver assessment required prior to starting
  •  Ongoing industry-related training and support
