CLASS 1 TRAMPER DRIVER

HGV Class 1 Driver – Coventry, West Midlands

People Solutions are looking for a HGV Class 1 Driver to join our client based in Coventry, West Midlands. This is a fantastic opportunity offering great rates of pay and room to grow and progress.

Shifts
• Monday to Friday – 06:00 start

Rates of Pay
• Basic: £17.50 per hour
• After 18:00: £19.50 per hour
• £25 night-out allowance

Day-to-Day Duties
• Class 1 trunking and trailer swaps between depots
• Tramping Monday to Friday (sleeping in cab)
• Operating and driving Class 1 vehicles safely and efficiently
• Pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Ensuring cargo is loaded and secured correctly
• Adhering to traffic laws and regulations
• Communicating effectively with dispatch and customers
• Reporting vehicle defects or maintenance issues

Essential Skills
• Valid UK Category CE licence
• Minimum 12 months' CE driving experience
• No more than six points (minor infringements only – no major endorsements)
• Valid UK CPC card and Digi card
• Good spoken and written English
• Excellent punctuality and time-keeping
• Strong understanding of traffic laws and regulations
• Effective communication skills

Desirable Experience
• Previous commercial driving experience
• Previous multi-drop experience

Training Provided
• Driver assessment must be completed before starting
