People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Haydock. This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, modern vehicles, and clean, straightforward work — with no handball required, only trailer swaps and driving.
Shifts: Various shifts available across AM and PM start times
Rates of Pay
• £18.00 per hour – Days  • £19.00 per hour – Nights  • £20.00 per hour – Saturday  • £21.00 per hour – Sunday

Day-to-Day Duties
• Carry out trailer swaps – no handball involved  • Complete depot-to-depot trunking runs  • Operate and drive HGV Class 1 (Category CE) vehicles safely and efficiently  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections  • Ensure all loads are securely fastened and compliant  • Adhere to all traffic laws and site safety rules  • Communicate effectively with the transport team and dispatch  • Report any vehicle defects or maintenance issues promptly
Essential Skills
• Valid UK Category CE (Class 1) Driving Licence  • Minimum of 12 month's experience driving Category CE vehicles  • No more than six penalty points (minor offences only)  • Valid UK CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card  • Good level of spoken and written English  • Excellent punctuality and timekeeping  • Strong understanding of UK transport legislation  • Professional, reliable, and safety-focused approach
Desirable Experience
• Previous experience working in trunking or trailer swap operations
Training Provided
• On-site driver assessment completed on Day 1
