HGV Class 1 Driver – Multi-Drop – Widnes, Cheshire

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Widnes, Cheshire.

This role is ideal for an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver looking for consistent day-shift work.

It is perfectly suited for applicants looking for a role as a LGV Class 1 Driver / Truck Driver / Category CE Driver

Shifts:

  •  Monday to Friday (weekend work available)
  •  AM starts between 04:00 – 08:00

Rates of Pay:

  •  £17.00 per hour (Monday to Friday)
  •  £18.00 per hour (Weekends)

Day-to-Day Duties:

As a HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties will include (but are not limited to):

  •  Class 1 multi-drop deliveries
  •  Operating Category CE vehicles safely and efficiently
  •  Carrying out pre- and post-journey vehicle inspections
  •  Ensuring all goods are loaded and secured correctly
  •  Adhering to UK traffic laws and transport regulations
  •  Communicating effectively with the transport office and customers
  •  Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance requirements
  •  Assisting with loading and unloading when required

Essential Skills:

To be successful as a HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:

  •  Valid UK Category CE Driving Licence
  •  Minimum of twelve months' experience driving Category CE vehicles
  •  No more than six penalty points for minor offences (no major endorsement codes)
  •  Valid UK Driver CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
  •  Good spoken and written English
  •  Excellent punctuality and timekeeping
  •  Strong understanding of UK road traffic laws
  •  Effective communication skills

Desirable Experience:

  •  Previous experience driving commercial vehicles

Training:

  •  Driver assessment required prior to starting
  •  One-day paid induction following a successful assessment
  •  Ongoing industry-related training and support
