HGV CLASS 1 NIGHTS DRIVER

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 1 Nights Driver based in Garretts Green, Birmingham, West Midlands.
This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay and genuine opportunities for growth and progression.

Shifts
  • Monday to Friday – start times between 4:30pm and 7:30pm
  • Trunking work
  • 1 drop per shift

Rates of Pay
  • £18.50 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties
  • Carrying out RDC or brewery deliveries (curtain-side, no handball required)
  • Operating and driving HGV Class 1 vehicles safely and efficiently
  • Performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Ensuring all cargo is correctly loaded and secured
  • Adhering to traffic laws and driving regulations
  • Communicating effectively with dispatch and customers
  • Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance needs
  • Assisting with loading and unloading when required

Essential Skills
  • Valid UK Category CE Licence
  • Minimum 12 months' experience driving CE vehicles
  • No more than six penalty points for minor offences (no major endorsements)
  • Valid UK CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
  • Good spoken and written English
  • Excellent punctuality and time-keeping
  • Strong understanding of traffic laws and regulations
  • Effective communication skills

Desirable Experience
  • Previous commercial Class 1 driving experience
  • Previous multi-drop delivery experience

Training Provided
  • Driver assessment required prior to starting
  • One-day paid induction following a successful assessment
