HGV Class 1 Driver – Night Shifts - Stafford

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Stafford, Staffordshire.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering great rates of pay and room to grow and progress.

This position is ideal for applicants looking for a role as a LGV Class 1 Driver, CE Driver or Articulated Lorry Driver.

Shifts:

  • Working five nights between Monday and Sunday
  • Start times: 01:00 – 03:00

Pay rate:

  • £18.00 per hour

Day to Day Duties:

Your duties as a HGV Class 1 Driver will involve but not be limited to:

  • Between 1 – 3 drops using pump trucks
  • Operate and drive various Category CE vehicles in a safe and efficient manner to and from delivery locations
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Ensure all cargo is loaded and secured properly
  • Adhere to traffic laws and regulations
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers
  • Report any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management
  • Assist with loaded and unloading of cargo as needed

Essential Skills:

As a HGV Class 1 Driver you will need to:

  • Hold a valid UK Category CE Licence
  • Have a minimum of twelve months experience driving CE vehicles
  • No more than six penalty points for minor infringements and no major endorsement codes
  • Have a valid UK CPC Card and UK Digi Card
  • Must be able to speak and read a good level of English
  • Punctuality and excellent time keeping skills
  • Have a good understanding of traffic laws and regulations
  • Effective communication skills

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience driving any commercial vehicles
  • Previous experience with multi drop deliveries

Training:

  • Industry related training and ongoing support throughout
