Role and ResponsibilitiesPromote a positive company image by keeping a neat, clean and tidy appearance Ensure vehicle/trailer is fit for the road by undertaking and logging daily vehicle checksReporting any defects to the workshop to maintain the safety of driver, customers, members of the public and goods Ensure vehicle is loaded and unloaded safely in accordance with company procedures avoiding risk of injury to yourself and othersEnsure vehicle is loaded efficiently e.g. goods sorted and stored in vehicle in ascending order according to deliveriesEnsure vehicle is securely loaded e.g. using internal straps and rachet straps when necessary Load and unload vehicles safely in relation to collection/delivery to avoid risk of injury to self/others Ensuring goods are delivered to customers in optimum condition according to company standardsReport any issues in connection with deliveries to the Transport Office immediatelyComplete all relevant paperwork obtaining signatures when appropriate Inform the company promptly of any accidents or incidents you are involved inEnsure when delivering/collecting, unless in a situation that cannot be avoided, you take the most direct route and within an acceptable time limit Be available at all times when on duty (except whilst driving and the vehicle is in motion) and to return calls to the office as soon as possible (once you have stopped the vehicle and turned the engine off)Supply a copy of your driving licence to the company annually or as required and inform the company immediately of any driving convictions/restraints imposed on youAlways follow the rules of the highway code Ensure compliance to standards in respect of all company requirementsReport any accidents in the workplace immediatelyEnsure correct Personal Protective Equipment is worn at all necessary times Be familiar with and follow the companys and customers health and safety policies, guidelines and procedures at all timesWork as part of a team and actively demonstrate a willingness to support and achieve the overall business objectives Effectively communicate with all staff to ensure the safety and efficiency of yourself, others and the siteEstablish and maintain effective working relationships with all colleagues Preferred SkillsKeep up to date with changes in driving legislation and ensure that these are complied withRelevant Licences and Drivers Cards applicable to positionHave a friendly and engaging personality and is comfortable working with members of the public Be physically fit as there is some lifting and carrying involved in the role TPBN1_UKTJ
