£35,175 - £39,480 (National) Salary is subject to uplift from 1st August 2025
plus an Accountancy Allowance of £5,000 pa (Fully Qualified) or £2,500 (Part Qualified)

The responsibilities of the Reporting Accountant will include:
Support production of the monthly GPA and budget holder management accounts to tight deadlines.
Analysing financial performance to identify variances and ensuring transactions are accounted for correctly.
Support the Financial Planning and Analysis team during the annual budget setting process.
Support continuous process efficiencies and improvements across the function.
Facilitating ad hoc reporting including Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests.
Identifying trends, risks and opportunities in the financial data.
Build relationships with key staff across Finance and the business in order to maintain effectiveness and relevance during change.
Key Skills & Experience
Essential:
Experience of management accounting
Strong attention to detail and ability to analyse and interpret significant amounts of financial data, including via use of technological solutions and tools such as AI
Strong focus on meeting stakeholder needs
Ability to seek out new information and self-develop
Experience of using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
Proficient using Microsoft Excel
Desirable:
Good experience of management accounting in a public sector context
Good experience Power BI
