Health & Safety Manager Location: Edmonton, North LondonSalary: Up to £55,000 per annumHours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per weekContract: Full time, Permanent We are supporting a well‑established operations and resource recovery organisation in the search for a Health & Safety Manager to join their leadership team at a large, high‑performing site in North London. This is a hands‑on, visible role where you'll play a central part in shaping safety standards and supporting long‑term operational growth. The Opportunity As the Health & Safety Manager, you'll work closely with site leadership and central SHEQ teams to ensure health, safety, environmental, and quality standards are fully embedded across daily operations. You'll be influential on the ground, not just ensuring compliance, but actively driving a positive, proactive safety culture. This role suits someone who enjoys balancing strategic oversight with practical, site‑based engagement. Key Responsibilities
Lead health and safety performance across a busy operational site in North London Support Site Managers in delivering safe, compliant, and efficient plant operations Carry out regular inspections, audits, and safety reviews, identifying trends and risks Deliver health and safety training, inductions, and toolbox talks Act as a visible leader on site, promoting high safety standards by example Monitor compliance with site SHEQ policies and permit conditions Work alongside central safety teams on hazard reporting, near misses, behavioural safety surveys, and audits Conduct thorough incident investigations and implement preventative actions Serve as the site's Fire Safety Lead, ensuring statutory inspections and fire prevention plans are maintained Manage contractor and visitor safety, including inductions and RAMS approvals Oversee traffic management plans and site movement controls Collaborate with environmental and facilities teams to maintain statutory compliance Participate in on call emergency response when required
What We're Looking For
NEBOSH General Certificate, minimum essential Previous experience in a health and safety role within an industrial, waste, manufacturing, or operational environment Management or supervisory experience Strong analytical and reporting skills Confidence working in fast paced operational settings Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills Strong organisation and prioritisation abilities Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital systems Full UK driving licence and availability for emergency call outs
