Health & Safety Manager\n Up to £65,000 P.A (DOE)\n Peterborough\n\nExcellent Opportunity!\n\nIn a nutshell…\n\nOur client is a well-established UK organisation operating within a technical and operational environment, with a strong focus on safety, compliance, and continuous improvement. With a commitment to high standards and best practice, the business is now seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to lead its Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) strategy.\n\nThis is a pivotal role where you will act as the organisation's appointed Health & Safety professional, ensuring full compliance with UK legislation and industry standards while driving a positive, proactive safety culture across the business. The role is both office and field based and will involve travel for site visits, audits, and training delivery.\n\nWhat's involved for the Health & Safety Manager…\n\nDevelop, implement, and continuously improve the Health & Safety Management System in line with legal, regulatory, and best-practice requirements.\nLead inspection, audit, and assurance programmes to monitor and enhance HSE performance.\nMeasure, analyse, and report on HSE performance, benchmarking against industry standards.\nReview, develop, and maintain safe systems of work, ensuring policies and procedures remain practical and risk-focused.\nChampion a safety-first culture and clearly communicate HSE expectations across the organisation.\nProvide frameworks, tools, and guidance to support compliance with HSE legislation and industry guidance.\nLead employee consultation groups and work closely with Safety Representatives.\nIdentify HSE competence requirements and advise on training and development actions.\nDeliver and support HSE training, toolbox talks, inductions, and incident investigations.\nReview risk assessments and method statements, providing expert advice where required.\nManage HSE eLearning platforms and compliance tracking systems.\nEnsure statutory reporting requirements are met, including external incident reporting where required.\nMaintain HSE accreditations and certifications.\nPlan and manage internal, external, corporate, insurance, and compliance audits.\nAct as the main point of contact for regulatory bodies and local authorities.\nSupport HSE-related claims, investigations, and assurance visits for key contracts.\nSupport contractor scheme applications, renewals, and external submissions.\nCollaborate across departments to maintain compliance and minimise operational risk.
