Health & Safety Manager – Construction / M&E\nSalary: Competitive, depending on experience\nLocation: London\nEmployment Type: Full-time, Permanent\n\nA well-established engineering and construction services company is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to take full ownership of HSE operations across the business. This is a senior-level position ideally suited to someone who has already managed Health & Safety at a company-wide level, rather than solely on individual projects.\n\nWe are looking for someone with at least 5+ years of Health & Safety experience within the construction, mechanical, or electrical sectors, with proven capability overseeing H&S compliance for a business with a turnover of £60m–£100m+.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * Lead and manage all Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) functions across the business.\n\n * Develop, implement, and maintain company-wide health and safety policies and procedures.\n\n * Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments across multiple live projects.\n\n * Provide guidance, coaching, and support to engineers, supervisors, and project managers.\n\n * Ensure company compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and industry standards.\n\n * Investigate incidents, near misses, and implement corrective actions.\n\n * Deliver toolbox talks, training, and ongoing safety education.\n\n * Work closely with senior management to drive a strong safety culture throughout the organisation.\n\nRequirements\n\n * Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Health & Safety role within Construction, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.\n\n * Proven experience managing H&S across an entire business—not just single projects.\n\n * Strong understanding of HSE legislation, CDM regulations, and industry best practice.\n\n * NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (minimum) – Diploma preferred but not essential.\n\n * Confident communicator with the ability to influence at all levels.\n\n * Strong organisational and reporting skills.\n\nWhat’s on Offer\n\n * Competitive salary and benefits package.\n\n * Opportunity to shape and lead the company’s Health & Safety function.\n\n * Supportive management team and long-term career progression.\n\n * Role within a respected and growing engineering services business
