STEQ Advisor
Location: Head Office + UK Site Travel
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 + Car Allowance
Working Pattern: Full Time | 1 day working from home per week
Eaton Syalon are supporting a highly regarded organisation with the recruitment of a STEQ Advisor. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business where safety, quality and continuous improvement sit at the heart of everything they do. The role offers a balance of site-based engagement and strategic input, working closely with operational teams to drive best practice across multiple UK locations.
It is essential you have previous experience within the construction or engineering sector.
The Opportunity
This role will see you playing a key part in supporting and developing Safety, Training, Environmental and Quality (STEQ) performance across the business.
You will work closely with site teams, supervisors and leadership to ensure compliance, improve standards and embed a proactive safety culture. The position offers real scope to influence and support continuous improvement across projects and operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the ongoing development and maintenance of the company’s Integrated Management System (IMS) aligned to ISO standards
- Carry out site inspections and audits across UK locations, identifying risks and supporting corrective actions
- Assist in the preparation and coordination of internal and external audits
- Support incident investigations, including root cause analysis and follow-up actions
- Work with operational teams to develop and review RAMS and safe systems of work
- Track non-conformances and ensure timely close-out of corrective actions
- Provide guidance to managers and employees on health & safety legislation and best practice
- Support the delivery of training, toolbox talks and safety initiatives
- Assist with data collection, reporting and trend analysis to drive improvements
- Maintain accurate training and compliance records
- Build strong working relationships across site and head office teams
About You
- Previous experience in a Health & Safety / SHEQ / STEQ Advisor role
- Background within construction, civil engineering, manufacturing or another high-risk environment is essential
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to challenge and influence where required
- Organised and detail-focused with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proactive and solutions-driven approach
- Comfortable working across multiple sites
Qualifications
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) – essential
- Working towards or holding membership of IOSH / IEMA / CQI – desirable
- Full UK driving licence
