About the Project


Taylor Woodrow, as part of a joint venture, is delivering HS2’s iconic Old Oak Common Station - set to become one of the UK’s busiest and best-connected transport hubs. With 14 platforms and cutting-edge infrastructure, this transformational project places innovation, collaboration and safety at its core.


The Role


You will be responsible for advising and supporting project teams and suppliers on all aspects of Health & Safety, ensuring statutory compliance, and championing a culture of zero harm across site operations.


You will also support construction teams through all stages of delivery, providing expert guidance, undertaking inspections, and driving continuous improvement in health, safety and wellbeing practices.


Key Responsibilities


  • Promote a positive Health, Safety & Wellbeing culture across the project.
  • Advise managers and operatives on best practices and compliance standards.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and produce formal reports.
  • Support delivery of HSW KPIs at project and business level.
  • Undertake risk management checks and highlight improvements.
  • Provide expert support during investigation of incidents, near misses and accidents.
  • Engage collaboratively with internal stakeholders, supply chain partners and regulators.

Essential Qualifications & Experience


  • Relevant degree, NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent H&S qualification (NVQ Level 3+).
  • Membership of TechIOSH or GradIOSH (or working towards).
  • Strong experience in Health & Safety within civil engineering, including demolition and ground engineering on major projects.
  • Skilled in preparing inspection and audit reports.
  • Experience conducting high-standard incident investigations, including Root Cause Analysis.
  • Strong IT skills including MS Office 365 and digital reporting systems.
  • Wide-ranging construction and rail project experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and influence teams in a functional or client-based capacity.
