Health and Safety Manager

The time has come for them to appoint an in‑house Health and Safety Manager to a new and diverse role. You will join the Estates team and play an integral part in delivering superb quality and safe environments to the occupiers, as well as supporting in developing policy, procedure and training site‑based staff. Responsibilities
Review current safety risk assessments and establish any exposure with respect to permits to work, taking responsibility for the completion of gap analysis across the business, setting a clear action plan and addressing any shortfalls. Review all work procedures and highlight where gaps exist, ensuring that new policies and procedures are introduced to meet regulatory standards (e.g. Asbestos, Fire, Electrical, Water procedures). Develop and maintain specific policies applicable to company operations. Internally review accidents and other safety breaches, setting out clear recommendations as required. Stay up to date with health and safety and environmental regulations, ensuring the business is aligned to current standards. Conduct in‑house training sessions across the business, ensuring health and safety awareness is delivered consistently. Track incident metrics and report findings to the executive team. Work closely with the training and development team to highlight and develop in‑house and external training programmes for various roles. Manage associated H&S consultants, including regular performance reviews of the independent organisations. Chair the monthly H&S Committee and implement essential H&S improvements across the business.
Qualifications
In depth knowledge of safety regulations, excellent communication skills, strong team spirit and a collaborative approach, and strong working knowledge of H&S systems. Flexible approach to when and where you work – travel required, occasional outside‑of‑regular‑hours work at peak times. NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety. NEBOSH Management of Health and Safety and Well‑Being at Work. CMIOSH (Chartered Safety and Health Practitioner). Over 5 years management experience across a similar‑scale organisation.
