NEW OPENING JUL'S LONDON Key Responsibilities Guest Service Greet guests warmly and ensure they feel welcomed and attended to throughout their dining experience.
Present menus, explain dishes, and offer pairing or recommendation advice (especially wine and specials).
Oversee the service sequence for their section or the entire dining room, ensuring precision and timing.
Handle special requests, dietary restrictions, and guest complaints with professionalism and discretion.
Maintain deep knowledge of the menu, wine list, ingredients, and preparation methods.
Team Leadership Supervise and coordinate the activities of waitstaff, commis, and runners.
Train and mentor junior servers on service techniques, etiquette, and restaurant standards.
Conduct pre-service briefings to communicate menu changes, specials, and VIP guest information.
Monitor staff performance and ensure smooth communication between the front and back of house.
Service Operations Ensure mise-en-place (table setup, silverware, glassware, linens) meets fine dining standards.
Coordinate with the sommelier, kitchen, and bar to ensure synchronization of food and beverage service.
Supervise food presentation and ensure accuracy before serving.
Maintain cleanliness and order in the dining area throughout service.
Oversee closing duties, including reconciliation of checks and shift reporting.
Quality & Standards Uphold and enforce fine dining etiquette, including guest approach, plate handling, and pacing of courses.
Maintain awareness of health, hygiene, and safety regulations.
Monitor ambiancelighting, temperature, and musicto enhance guest experience.
Skills & Qualifications Minimum 35 years of fine dining service experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
Deep knowledge of gourmet cuisine, wine, and service protocol.
Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Strong leadership, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Training in hospitality management or sommelier certification (preferred but not always required).
