About the Role

Location: East Croydon, United Kingdom

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 9:00 am – 5:30 pm. Hybrid working available – 2 days from home, 3 days in office.

Salary: Competitive

What You’ll Do

Key responsibilities include:

  • On a typical day you’ll interact with Chief Commercial Officer, Trading Director, Trading Team, eCommerce, Marketing, Supply Chain and external stakeholders such as key suppliers and potential partners.
  • Build a strategic category plan aligned with business direction, driving sales, profitability, customer satisfaction and market share in‑store and online.
  • Measure and report performance against budget, optimise plans to grow sales and work closely with the buying team.
  • Drive GOBE through the buying team and partner with OB to develop and grow Power Brands.
  • Collaborate with marketing to fully execute brand plans.
  • Lead supplier negotiations and implement plans that deliver collective objectives.
  • Create cohesive merchandising plans that align with other category heads to ensure quality stock, commercial performance and better ranging.

  • Influence potential partners and enhance Superdrug’s positioning.
  • Prioritise coaching and development of the right talent.
  • Analyse customer behaviour to shape the market.

What You Need To Succeed

  • Understanding of current economic situations and potential threats to the market.
  • Depth knowledge of market trends, brand positioning and consumer insights.
  • Strong experience from a career in retail buying.
