Macgregor Black are partnering with a fast growing SME Consumer Goods Brand to hire a Head of Social Media. The Head of Social Media will lead the development and execution of a high-impact social media strategy, establishing a dedicated in-house team responsible for content creation, community management, creator partnerships, and paid social performance. Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute the social media and social selling strategy Build and lead a small Social Selling Team based in South Shields Establish operating processes, governance, and reporting frameworks Work closely with marketing, e-commerce, and product teams to align activity Own paid social performance across platforms such as Meta and TikTok Manage campaign planning, testing, optimisation, and reporting Deliver customer acquisition within defined CPA targets Work with external partners or agencies where appropriate Develop a high-volume social content production model Oversee product demonstration video creation and short-form formats Work with creators and influencers to develop authentic content Ensure content supports both brand storytelling and direct response performance Oversee day-to-day community engagement across social platforms Ensure the brand voice is consistent and responsive Build engaged audiences and strengthen brand advocacy Work with internal teams to identify products suitable for social selling Support the launch of social-exclusive products where appropriate Ensure alignment with the e-commerce platform and customer journey
What We’re Looking For:
Proven experience managing social media or paid social performance Experience producing or managing social-first content Experience working within e-commerce, consumer brands, or digital agencies Demonstrated ability to deliver measurable marketing outcomes Deep understanding of social media platforms and formats Strong analytical and commercial mindset Experience managing creative production and campaign optimisation Ability to lead and develop a small team Entrepreneurial and commercially focused Comfortable working in a fast-paced, test-and-learn environment Creative, curious, and data-driven Highly accountable and results-oriented
