This is an exciting role, focusing on leading Troubadour's retail presence today, whilst defining the structure and standards that future Troubadour stores will operate under. The goal is to establish a scalable retail model, with potential expansion across London and the US as the business grows.You will be responsible for making the Soho flagship a best-in-class brand environment while developing the systems, standards and commercial approach that will support future store expansion. This role combines hands-on store leadership with building the foundations behind retail performance. You will spend meaningful time on the shop floor with the team and customers, while also stepping back to shape how retail should operate successfully at Troubadour as we scale.What You’ll DoResponsibilitiesDefine what exceptional Troubadour retail looks like.Lead the Soho flagship as the reference point for Troubadour retail.Own overall store performance, standards and customer experience.Set the standard for how Troubadour Retail should look, feel and operate.Spend regular time on the shop floor leading by example in service, selling and atmosphere.Commercial PerformanceOwn the commercial performance of the flagship and develop a clear retail performance model.Manage the store P&L and key commercial drivers.Set and monitor weekly, monthly and quarterly performance targets.Track and improve key metrics including conversion, ATV, UPT, productivity and retention.Use data and customer insight to inform decisions on staffing, product focus and store initiatives.Retail Systems & OperationsDesign and document the operational systems and standards that will underpin Troubadour’s future retail expansion.Build clear, scalable operational processes across staffing, stock, reporting and store routines.Maintain strong inventory integrity and operational discipline in the store.Establish simple systems that can be replicated as additional locations open.Continuously improve store processes to support efficiency and growth.Customer Experience & Brand RepresentationDefine and protect the retail service standard for Troubadour.Build a service culture that feels knowledgeable, thoughtful and personal.Ensure the team can confidently communicate the design, function and story behind each product.Handle complex customer situations with sound judgement and a solutions mindset.Capture customer insight from the store and feed it back to product, marketing and ecommerce teams.Team LeadershipBuild and develop a strong retail team capable of supporting future growth.Recruit, onboard and develop high-performing retail staff.Set clear expectations and performance standards.Provide regular coaching and feedback to support development.Identify and develop future store leaders as the retail footprint expands.Local Marketing & FootfallSupport retail growth through strong local presence and brand visibility.Develop local initiatives that increase awareness and footfall.Build relationships with relevant neighbourhood partners and businesses.Partner with the marketing team on events, launches and retail activations.Maintain strong in-store storytelling and visual merchandising aligned with brand campaigns.Building the Retail BlueprintHelp define how Troubadour retail should scale.Provide structured reporting on performance, learnings and opportunities.Document best practices across operations, service and commercial performance.Contribute to thinking around store formats, staffing models and expansion plans.Represent retail within the broader team, bringing structured insight from the store to inform product, marketing, business and leadership decisions.ExperienceWho you areExperience managing a premium or lifestyle retail store environment.Strong track record improving commercial performance and customer experience.Experience leading retail teams and building strong store culture.Experience working with commercial data, KPIs and store reporting.Exposure to new store openings or multi-store operations is a plus.Skills & MindsetCommercially minded and confident working with performance metrics.Strong operator who can bring structure and clarity to retail operations.High standards for customer experience and brand presentation.Clear communicator able to represent retail perspectives within the wider business.Comfortable balancing hands-on leadership with building systems for scale.Energised by building something that can grow beyond a single store.Why TroubadourWe’ve grown tenfold in the last four years by chasing bold ideas and challenging the status quo.
