Sizewell C will create a 3.2 gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for at least 60 years, built next to Sizewell B which began operating in 1995 and has avoided over 76 million tonnes of carbon emissions.
This role will be hybrid, with one to two days per week at our Bristol (Aztec West) offices.
Role Purpose
The Head of Quality is responsible for implementing, managing, and continually improving the Quality Management function within the MEH Alliance. The post holder will collaborate closely with the SZC Quality Assurance team to ensure project compliance with Licence Conditions.
What you'll be doing
- Operate effectively within a complex matrix organisation.
- Lead and define necessary Quality processes.
- Influence stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
- Define Quality requirements across functional areas, including procurement of external expertise when necessary.
- Serve as an expert and advisor in all areas of Quality.
- Submit regular performance reports with deviations, corrective actions, and escalations.
- Provide independent quality escalation points for the programme team.
- Manage third-party suppliers to meet programme objectives.
- Support other functions with quality input and evaluation of contracts.
- Establish, host, and chair assurance and governance reviews during the programme.
- Develop and mentor staff, ensuring succession planning.
Who we're looking for
- Diploma in Quality Management or degree qualification.
- Lead Auditor qualification to ISO 9001.
- Chartered membership in a professional body, preferably CQI.
- Natural leader with ability to inspire and influence.
- Experience managing large Quality teams, projects, and budgets in regulated industries.
- Proven track record in Quality Management within engineering or project delivery.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 19443:2018; risk management experience is beneficial.
- Ability to gain security clearance.
- Risk Management qualification is advantageous.
- Experience in supplier management and nuclear site license conditions is a plus.
