The Role The Head of Production is responsible for the leadership, strategic direction and daily management of Thomas Lyte's workshop production function, ensuring exceptional craftsmanship, operational efficiency, budgetary control and adherence to company standards of excellence. This is a critical leadership role, that will be instrumental in driving efficiency and will report directly to the Board of Directors. Company Culture

Responsibilities
Lead the entire production process across both workshops in Hainault and Ashford, overseeing workflow from raw materials to final product Develop and implement efficient production schedules to optimise workflow and resource allocation Conduct daily production meetings to maintain clarity of priorities Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and to quality standards Oversee production of project files and ensure all documentation is accurate and complete Maintain rigorous quality control and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations Drive continuous improvement and waste reduction across production processes Collaborate closely with Operations, Technical, Design, Purchasing, HR and client-facing teams Support technical training programmes, work experience placements and the apprenticeship scheme Represent Thomas Lyte at trade shows, supplier visits and industry events Oversee the implementation and efficient utilisation of a new planning and scheduling system
Skills and Experience
Extensive experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment in a senior technical role Proven leadership of high-performing technical teams Strong analytical, problem-solving and continuous improvement capabilities Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Passion for craftsmanship and traditional artisan techniques
Personality & Attributes
Highly organised, sophisticated communicator, with the ability to prioritise according to business needs Proven leadership and people management experience Production and workflow management Problem solving and decision making Craftsmanship and technical understanding
