Head of Product - Engineering Systems Location: Heathrow (3 days onsite per week Duration: 6-12 months Rate: £1,000-£1,200 per day - Inside of IR35 Start: Available within 1 month or less My client is seeking a senior, programme-level Head of Product - Engineering Systems to join the Value Assurance team, leading high-impact transformation across critical engineering systems. This role is not traditional product management. It requires a strategy consultancy mindset, with accountability for value creation, outcomes delivery, and complex transformation, rather than backlog ownership alone. You will own the product strategy and transformation of a portfolio of systems within Planning, Execution, or Supply Chain, many of which are legacy platforms undergoing major modernisation. You'll work at the heart of the clients Engineering, influencing senior stakeholders and shaping decisions with material operational and financial impact. What You Will Do Product Strategy & Value Ownership Define and lead the product and transformation strategy for engineering systems within your domain. Translate engineering, operational and commercial challenges into clear, outcome-driven priorities. Own delivery against measurable value and benefits, not just product outputs. Operate as a senior product and transformation lead across complex, multi-workstream initiatives. Technology Transformation Lead large-scale system transformation and replacement programmes. Structure and run system selection processes, including: Defining business and technical requirements Evaluating vendor solutions and trade-offs Building robust recommendations for senior decision-makers

Work closely with IT, enterprise architecture and engineering leadership to ensure alignment with long-term technology strategy. What We're Looking For This role is designed for candidates with strategy consultancy or equivalent transformation leadership backgrounds, operating at programme or portfolio level. You will ideally bring: Atop-tier strategy or consulting background, for example: MBB (McKinsey, BCG, Bain), or Oliver Wyman, Deloitte, PwC, EY, BlackRock, or similar

Proven ownership of value creation and outcomes, not just product management Experience leading enterprise-scale system implementations or transformations Strong senior stakeholder engagement and problem-solving capability The gravitas to operate credibly at executive level Experience in aviation, engineering or asset-heavy operations is beneficial but not required.
