Job Description
An iconic public sector organisation is currently recruiting for a Head of Procurement Business Partnering on an interim basis for a 6 month initial contract.
This will be on a day rate of £700 - £800 per day inside IR35 (umbrella). They will offer hybrid working with 3 days per week on site required.
About the Role
Lead their Commercial Leads and drive excellence across procurement operations. This is a high-impact leadership role focused on developing category strategies, enhancing stakeholder engagement, and embedding responsible procurement practices across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of Commercial Leads, fostering high performance and collaboration.
- Develop and implement pipeline and category strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Create dashboard reporting tools for key stakeholders to support data-driven decision-making.
- Establish and refine ways of working to strengthen business partnering, including stakeholder engagement plans.
- Review and reshape category boards to improve governance and strategic alignment.
- Build a robust Commercial Service reporting framework.
- Design and deliver a team capability development plan.
- Lead market engagement and shaping activities, providing coaching and guidance to team members.
- Embed Responsible Procurement principles into systems, processes, and daily operations.
Person Specification
- Extensive experience in strategic sourcing and category management, with a strong track record of delivering cost savings, value creation, and supplier innovation.
- Proven ability to build trusted relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels in complex, matrixed environments.
- Deep understanding of supplier market dynamics, contract negotiation, and risk management, including managing high-value and high-risk supplier relationships.
- Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional sourcing initiatives and aligning procurement strategies with business needs.
- Strong analytical and commercial acumen, with the ability to interpret data and market trends to inform strategy.
- Professional qualifications such as MCIPS, MBA, or equivalent, with a solid academic background in procurement, supply chain, or a related discipline.
- Excellent knowledge of Public Procurement regulations and compliance requirements.
