Role: Head of Philanthropy

Contract: 4 days per week.

Location: London/Hybrid working 2/3 days per week in the office.

About The 93% Club

We’re the UK’s first, largest and fastest-growing network for state-educated people. Think of us as the alumni network state schoolers never got - community, connections, opportunities and a louder collective voice. We’re a social enterprise with big ambitions: making state school pride the norm, not the exception. We’ve grown fast - now we’re ready to level up our fundraising and build the engine that powers our next stage of growth and impact.

The Opportunity

This is a new role for The 93% Club, you will lead how the organisation grows and sustains its mission by building a future-proof fundraising strategy and cultivating high-value relationships. You will report to the CFO, with a dotted line to the CEO, and sit within the senior leadership team. The dotted line exists to enable close collaboration with the CEO on external engagement, lead generation and network mapping to build a strong and sustainable pipeline.

The 93% Club has grown rapidly with income up 75% year-on-year on average for three consecutive years, student membership up over 100% year-on-year, and our professional network up 93% year-on-year since launching in 2023. We have a hugely sustainable and scalable commercial model that currently generates ~60% of our income and this has been the biggest source of income growth for us to date; we are now looking to accelerate our growth through philanthropic income.

While we have not previously had a dedicated resource in this area, we have some key philanthropic partners who have supported us over the past 12 months. During this period, we raised approximately £0.4m through philanthropic sources, including £0.25m from grant funding and £0.1m from crowdfunding. Our donor base currently includes 25 major donors (£500–£10k) and 6 corporate donors; therefore, there is significant opportunity to grow this income stream with dedicated resource.

In this role, you’ll be instrumental to building on that momentum, doubling down on philanthropic giving, high-value supporters, grants and creative new opportunities that match the pace of our national movement. If you love building infrastructure from the ground up, turning ambition into reality, and forging meaningful relationships, this role is for you.
