An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic, innovative professional to join our Workforce Team at the State Hospital and to be at the heart of our transformative changes across our People Services.
You will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of a range of organisational development, leadership and management development, and learning and development services that support the organisation to be a high performing organisation and enable delivery of high-quality care.
Key strands of work include prioritising our Organisational Health through our extensive and engaged OD Strategy and helping to create a sustainable workplace in terms of development of career pathways and succession planning.
You will be responsible for influencing and engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, internally and externally, to co‑create Learning and OD solutions that are engaging and improve the experience leaders, managers and team members have of working as part of a unique mental health environment in the State Hospital Board for Scotland.
Experience
A strategic thinker and visionary leader, educated to Masters Level in a relevant subject or with equivalent experience, along with demonstrable experience in a Senior Management position, leading a team, preferably within the Public Sector.
Experience in designing and developing training provision and working with stakeholders to find solutions across Learning and Organisational Development, including supporting culture change and organisational health.
Experience of People and Budget Management.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

Reduced Working Week*
Starting from 1 April 2026, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change workers in Scotland will be reduced. Full‑time hours will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours, and part‑time staff will get a pro‑rata reduction in their working hours without losing any earnings.
