Head of Operations – WEEE Recycling

Location: West Yorkshire

Salary: Dependent on experience + Company Car or Car Allowance

Hours: 08:15 – 17:15, Monday to Friday

We're recruiting on behalf of a growing recycling business for a Head of Operations to oversee the smooth day-to-day running of their facility in West Yorkshire. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is motivated by driving results.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure the day-to-day running of the site is efficient, well-organised, and compliant.
• Drive cost-saving initiatives and process improvements to increase profitability.
• Lead daily morning briefings, assign duties and monitor workloads.
• Liaise with the Head of Compliance to ensure all H&S and hazardous waste checks are carried out.
• Monitor WEEE waste flow to ensure triage bays remain clear and KPIs are met.
• Perform daily product weighing (morning & evening) to prevent loss or discrepancies.
• Manage stock control, incoming/outgoing orders, and scheduling.
• Provide daily updates to the Managing Director via phone or in person.
• Act as a keyholder and be responsible for site security and compliance awareness.

Requirements:

Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar operational role, ideally within:

• WEEE waste recycling
• General recycling or shredding (particularly metals)
• Hand-dismantling operations
• Basic knowledge of WEEE compliance and hazardous waste procedures.
• Strong leadership qualities — open to experienced Supervisors or Team Leaders ready to step up.
• Proven ability to drive cost-efficiency, streamline operations, and increase profit margins.
• A positive, proactive attitude with strong communication and organisational skills.
