A high-performing 1118 secondary academy in Angel, Islington is seeking an ambitious Head of MFL from September 2026. Located on Prebend Street and part of a well-regarded academy trust with strong links to City, University of London, the school serves around 920 pupils, including a thriving sixth form. Ofsted recently confirmed the school continues to maintain its previously Outstanding standards, highlighting its calm, purposeful environment, strong behaviour culture, and consistently high expectations.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Head of MFL or a strong practitioner ready to step into a Head of MFL position in Angel, Islington, within a well-led and academically focused setting.
- Permanent Head of MFL role in Angel, Islington (Inner London MPS/UPS + TLR1A)
- Strong SLT with a clear vision, offering excellent support to a Head of MFL
- Well-structured curriculum and schemes of work already in place
- High standards of behaviour allowing the Head of MFL to focus on teaching and leadership
- Lead the MFL department as Head of MFL, driving attainment across KS3KS5
- Deliver outstanding teaching and model best practice as a Head of MFL
- Line manage and develop staff within the department
- Oversee curriculum planning, assessment, and departmental strategy
- UK QTS and strong academic background in a modern foreign language required
- Proven success teaching MFL and readiness for a Head of MFL role
- Strong leadership skills and commitment to high standards in Angel, Islington
