Head of Marketing – Performance Sportswear Brand (D2C)

Location: Manchester – full time, head office based.

Our client, one of the fastest growing sports performance wear brands in the UK, is looking for a Head of Marketing to take full ownership of its sports/performance wear division and elevate it onto the global stage.

You’ll oversee the entire marketing function – Creative, Social & Affiliates, PR, and external partners – ensuring every channel delivers bold, consistent, culturally connected campaigns that move the brand forward.

This role is both strategic and hands‑on. You’ll craft the global marketing vision while guiding a small, ambitious team through day‑to‑day execution. An understanding of key commercial players – including retailers like JD Sports – is essential.

What You’ll Lead

  • Own and deliver a full‑funnel marketing strategy across brand, digital, community, and e‑commerce.
  • Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team (Performance, Social, Affiliates, Creative).
  • Define KPIs, budgets, and priorities that drive sustainable growth.
  • Turn brand vision into clear, actionable plans across all channels.
  • Ensure alignment with wider business objectives and commercial needs.

Brand & Creative

  • Oversee creative output across campaigns, drops, and content.
  • Partner closely with the Creative Lead to ensure consistent, elevated visuals and narratives.
  • Champion a culture of creativity, innovation, and authenticity.

Social & Community

Streetwear is built on credibility and culture – you’ll protect and grow both.

  • Lead social, community, and affiliate strategies with authenticity at the core.
  • Build and nurture relationships with athletes, ambassadors, creators, PR agencies, and external partners.
  • Drive regional activations across the UK, EU, and North America to keep the brand at the heart of key cultural moments.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Product, E‑commerce, and Operations on launches, seasonal drops, and merchandising.
  • Own the marketing calendar, campaign planning, and brand activations across the business.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 6–10+ years in marketing within the streetwear /sportswear space.
  • Deep understanding of current and past streetwear trends and culture.
  • Proven experience leading multi‑disciplinary teams.
  • Full‑funnel expertise: brand + performance marketing.
  • Strong creative instinct with the ability to shape compelling brand narratives.
  • Data‑driven mindset with the ability to demonstrate ROI.
  • Thrives in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Visionary yet hands‑on – strategic thinker who isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves.
