Head of Department – Financial Mis-Selling (Business Energy Litigation)

Onsite (Temple, London) for initial 6 months | Hybrid thereafter

6+ PQE | Civil litigation with financial mis-selling or consumer claims experience

An exciting opportunity to take full ownership of a newly forming litigation department at a fast-growing disputes firm based near Temple.

The firm has an existing caseload of financial mis-selling claims and is now investing in a dedicated team to drive group actions in the business energy space, focused on cases involving secret commissions paid to brokers by suppliers.

You’ll be the lead lawyer from day one, working closely with the partners to shape the strategy, manage junior resource, and drive high-impact litigation. There is strong internal infrastructure in place to support volume intake and claim generation.

What you’ll be doing:

• Leading high-value group litigation and mis-selling claims involving business energy contracts.
• Shaping the department’s operational structure, strategy, and compliance.
• Overseeing and progressing claims from instruction through to resolution.
• Supervising junior fee earners and building scalable team processes.
• Liaising with counsel, funders, and insurers.
• Staying ahead of relevant FCA/SRA and consumer case law.

Who we’re looking for:

• A qualified solicitor or FCILEX with 6+ PQE and proven litigation experience.
• A background in financial mis-selling, energy litigation, or complex consumer claims.
• Experience managing teams, setting precedent libraries, and driving casework from the front.
• Commercially minded and excited by the prospect of building something new.
• Ideally available at short notice and happy to be based onsite near Temple initially.
